2016 is over, which means we can wrap it up already. For example, let’s make a list of the best and most memorable anime from each season. And today we start with romantic series, considering that there were not too many of them last year. I should say that this list will be extremely subjective, and you can add your two cents in the comments. So, here’s the Winter 2016 season:
Dagashi Kashi. Last year’s winter for me was marked by only one kind-of-romantic show. It was more about sweets than romance, but it’s still a fun and interesting story of the unusual love triangle.
Spring of 2016. This season has been a little more generous with romance:
Hundred. This typical mecha-harem was good not only in female characters design department. Some episodes was quite romantic and nice.
Netoge no Yome wa Onnanoko ja Nai to Omotta? One of the best anime of the year lit up the spring season with its kindness, coziness and of course, love story.
Re: Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu. Many of you, surely, love this magnificent anime not (only) for its romantic line. But if you remember Rem’s monologue you’ll agree that Re: Zero fully deserved to be in this (and many others) list.
Summer of 2016.
Orange. This lyrical story about a letter from the future is made mostly for girls, but any of romance anime fans will be able to enjoy it.
Relife. It’s worth watching. Really.
Rewrite. It’s a good show based on the great visual novel. You’ll love it if you’re a fan of the genre.
Fall of 2016.
Okusama ga Seitokaichou! Plus! The second season of adventure of cheerful members of the Student Council was almost the only “pure” romance of the Fall 2016 season. Of course, there was a lot of ecchi and fanservice too.
And what’s your favorite romance anime of 2016?
